Spotlight on Values - Meet the Winners
 
 Thank you for your nominations! Please keep nominating employees, physicians and volunteers who you feel are a great example of our values. Each month we take the nominations received and a nomination committee selects one person for each of the values.
 Meet the Monthly Spotlight Winners:
  
 
 The winner for COMPASSION is:  Jackie Ransom.
 "Jackie Ransom of Clarksville, med/surg, was recognized for the value of compassion. Nominated for her empathy, Jackie is friendly and courteous to each of her patients. She takes the time to explain her actions and consistently treats her patients with respect and dignity."
 
 The winner for ENTHUSIASM is:  .

 The winner for EXCELLENCE is:  Kathleen Butschi.
 "Kathleen Butschi of Waverly, med/surg, was recognized for the value of excellence. Nominated for her commitment to quality patient care, Kathleen goes above and beyond the call of duty. She volunteers for extra shifts when needed, has exceptional attention to patient safety, and clearly communicates with each of her patients. She is an excellent nurse who demonstrates her dedication to her patients daily."
 
 The winner for INNOVATION is:  Kristin Eggleston.
 "Kristin Eggleston of Waverly, ambulance, was recognized for the value of innovation. She recently took the initiative to lead two projects that help WHC provide great patient centered care. Kristin demonstrated great planning and presentation skills in her leadership role and each project was successful."
 
 The winner for INTEGRITY is:  Alicia Jahnke.
 "Alicia Jahnke of Waverly, pharmacy, was recognized for the value of integrity. Nominated for her commitment to creating a new orientation process, Alicia worked hard to make sure the process met high standards. She demonstrated a great deal of integrity by making her project a priority while also providing a high level of attention to her ongoing responsibilities."
  

 Meet the Physican Spotlight of the Quarter:
  Dr. Clay Dahlquist Rathe - 2008, First Quarter
Dr. Clay Dahlquist, Rohlf Memorial Clinic, has received Waverly Health Center’s medical staff Spotlight on Values award. Nominated by several WHC staff members for his enthusiasm towards patients and commitment to excellence, Dr. Dahlquist is an example of WHC’s values in action.

"Dr. Dahlquist takes the time to listen and routinely seeks the input of our nurses when developing a treatment plan for his patients," stated one nominator. "He always provides a warm smile and takes the time to interact with patients."

Mike Trachta, CEO further praised Dr. Dahlquist saying, "He has quickly become a leader on our medical staff. His personality and bed-side manner make him a role model of Waverly Health Center’s patient-centered approach to care.

"I am honored to be recognized as a physician committed to patient-centered health care at Waverly Health Center," said Dahlquist. "I have worked at many facilities and Waverly Health Center has a genuine team approach for patient care.

Dr. Dahlquist specializes in family practice and began his career in Waverly in 2005. He received his undergraduate degree from Wartburg College and his Doctorate of Osteopath degree from Des Moines University.

Waverly Health Center has adopted five values which include compassion, enthusiasm, excellence, innovation and integrity. The Spotlight on Values program recognizes Waverly Health Center employees, volunteers and physicians for demonstrating these values. Patients, visitors and employees are encouraged to submit nominations for the WHC Spotlight on Values honors. Nominations can be submitted on-line at www.WaverlyHealthCenter.org/spotlight.asp or at any Spotlight on Values ballot boxes placed throughout the health center.
